Las Vegas, 8/27/18 — NORML is an organization dedicated to moving public opinion sufficiently to legalize the responsible use of marijuana by adults, and serving as an advocate for consumers to assure they have access to high quality marijuana that is safe, convenient and affordable.” To that end, criminal defense and Las Vegas DUI attorney Garrett T. Ogata will be speaking on the changes happening in marijuana law. The presentation will focus on how to navigate these changes, understand your rights, and know what charges one can face if arrested for marijuana-related DUI.

The meeting will be held Wednesday September 5th at 7:00 pm at Acres Cannabis 2320 Western Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102 , and is FREE and open to the public.

Garrett T. Ogata is an alumnus of the University Of Maryland School Of Law, from which he’s gone on to join the NORML legal committee and co-found the Las Vegas DUI Center. His expertise in marijuana reform laws backs NORML’s activism, and will lead Wednesday’s discussion. The central theme for the meeting will be Knowing Your Rights, but there will also be a discussion of alcohol vs. marijuana impairment, the differences between the two both in practice and under the law. Marijuana reform laws remain a hot-button issue and a confusing, fluctuating work in progress, so NORML invites the public to learn more about their rights as they stand as well as work to be done in the future toward full legalization of adult use of marijuana.

“With drug charges, your name and reputation is on the line, and ever harsher penalties can result in you being pushed through the system,” Ogata says, under his website’s section pertaining to marijuana and other drug charges. “Don’t let that happen.”

NORML is a national organization, with chapters in all 50 states. For more information, visit NORML.org for its agenda and full list of chapter meetings, or RSVP for the September 5th event at the NORML September Public Meeting event page.
