With Clark County School District students in the midst of spring break, police in Las Vegas plan to pay close attention to underage drinking as well as impaired driving.

Las Vegas Metro police announced a sobriety checkpoint and driving under intoxication saturation patrols on Friday between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. Police are planning the checkpoint in the east side of the Las Vegas Valley.

During the checkpoint, officers will be identifying drug and alcohol impaired driving, including with juveniles, young adults and older adults.

Police hope to stem potentially deadly collisions heading into the weekend.
