If you were given a blood test at the time of your DUI arrest, you likely have a few questions. When will the test results be available? How will you be notified? When to Contact Us After Your DUI Arrest
It can take over 3 – 5 months to receive the results from a blood test after a DUI arrest. When the results have been determined, you will receive a letter from the DMV stating that your driving privileges are going to be suspended for 90 days. As soon as you receive this letter, you need to contact us right away so a plan of action can be created; i.e. request a DMV hearing and obtain a temporary driver’s license. The temporary license is valid until you receive notification letter with results of your DMV hearing. If the DMV finds you guilty of a DUI, your license will be suspended accordingly. If you are not guilty, then your license will not be revoked
Your first notice of the blood test results will probably be from the Discovery received in the criminal case. The DMV letter will not tell you the exact BAC (Blood Alcohol Content). It will only state that the results are over .08 BAC.
