Las Vegas Police said that Miller’s pupils were constricted and she smelled of alcohol — she admitted to having consumed “a couple” of beer at work and taking a Xanax around 8 pm the night before.
Both anti-anxiety medication like Xanax and alcohol are central nervous system depressants (which is why Xanax works on anxiety) which can cause heart rate & breathing to plummet and slow the activity of the brain. Alcohol magnifies the effects of Xanax causing serious coordination and motor control issues. Reaction times are reduced significantly.
